MOJLC is always looking for helping hands. Whether you're a parent, coach, or simply a youth lacrosse enthusiast, we encourage you to help out where you can. How can you help? Good question. Here are some ways you can lend a hand:

Webmaster -- Have computer skills?? Help us maintain and develop this web site! 2. Holly O'Keeffe 2009 Boys' Registration Coordinator --Taken -- The club is seeking a well organized individual willing to take on registration coordination which will begin in June 2010 Lacrosse Season. 3. Dawn Goula 2009 Boys' Field Maintenance Coordinator - - In an effort to assure the program has lined places to practice and to play, the club is seeking a person who will coordinate the efforts (perhaps on both sides of the program) lining fields and maintaining each location assigned to lacrosse. This person will coordinate with the Boys' Scheduler and assure that all requests for fields are properly input into the township's scheduling program: SchoolDude. If interested for the 2010 Season, contact John Goula. 4. John Goula 2009 Boys' Scheduling Coordinator -- This individual will attend all league meetings and create the playing schedule with other township's league schedulers. The person will input the game schedule into LeagueMinder and ensure all games are confirmed with referees assigned. The Scheduling Coordinator will work in concert with the Club treasurer to obtain checks for home game referees as needed. If interested in scheduling for the 2010 season, see John Goula. 5. Dawn Goula 2009 Boys' Referee Confirmer -- Each week the referees for home games must be contacted to assure that no miscommunication has taken place. This individual will work with the LeagueMinder information, the Boys' Scheduling Coordinator, the Treasurer as well as the Field Maintenance Coordinator to ensure that games have been properly assigned to referees and that checks are readied for each home game assignment. The same individual responsible for scheduling may wish to include this in his/her job description. If interested in this position for the 2010 season, see John Goula. 6. Boys' Orientation Coordinator -- Each year, the club runs separate orientations: New Player, Returning Vets, and clinic level players. In addition, the club organizes an equipment handout date after the initial New Player/ Returning Vet orientation. This undertaking requires coordination with the Registration Coordinator, Treasurer, Merchandising Manager, and the Equipment Purchasing Manager. 7. Boys' Merchandising Manager -- Design and order yearly merchandise for sale at orientations, equipment handout, Internet sales, and the end-of-year picnic. Work with Orientation Coordinator, Picnic Coordinator, and WebMaster to organize selling procedures. 8. Dan Weiss 2009 Boys' Equipment Purchasing Manager -- Comparative shop brand name equipment and obtain competitive group purchasing rates to save money and time for parents while offering the club a fundraising opportunity. Work with Orientation Coordinator to delineate ordering and distribution responsibilities. If interested in this position for the 2010 season, see John Goula. 9. Board Members -- Each year, the club elects officers to oversee club operations. Please consider nominating an individual for a position or volunteering yourself. The board positions are President, and Club specific Vice Presidents, Treasurers, Secretaries, and Trustees. The Boys' Vice President is also responsible for coaching coordination and training. 10. Fundraising Coordinator -- As a 501 3(c), not-for-profit organization, the Mt. Olive Junior Lacrosse Club can solicit donations to offset costs and grow programming. In addition, the club is looking to fund the Simsbury Field Project. The club needs an individual to take the lead in obtaining funding from corporate resources. 11. Boys' Newsletter Coordinator -- In the past, the club has distributed a bi-monthly newsletter to its members highlighting team news, NCAA results, US Lacrosse information, as well as professional lacrosse. Archive copies for examples are embedded on the newsletter link in the navigation tree. 12. Recreation Committee Liaison -- The Mt. Olive Township Recreation Department holds monthly meetings in the township conference room at 7PM on the first Wednesday of every month. The club needs a person committed to attending the monthly meeting and conveying issues that might impact the development or operations of MOJLC. This person should also attend the Parks Development Committee, as well as the Open Space Committee Meetings. 13. Boys' Publicity Director -- Person responsibility for writing weekly news stories highlighting the statistics of Boys Games and communicating those results to the Mt. Olive Chronicle and other local publications. 14. Coaches, Coaches, and More Coaches -- consider using this year to acclimate yourself to the game and to begin training to coach for a new lacrosse season in 2009!
