FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- 2007 NJJLLUS Lacrosse U-15 & U-13 National Festival TeamsMt. Olive Junior Lacrosse Players selected to represent North Jersey at Festival EventsJune 15, 2007 -- Peter Shaver, Grade 8 Attack, was selected to the U-15 Northern Jersey Festival Team for 2007. As one of 24 players representing all of Northern Jersey, Shaver will travel to Orlando, Florida to compete against players from teams across the country. The event will take place at Disney's Wide World of Sports on June 22-24th. This is the second time Shaver was selected to a Festival team with 2006 marking the first team a MOJLC player was selected to play at this elite level. Brandyn Merkle, Grade 7 Goal Tender, was selected to the U-13 Northern Jersey Festival Team. Merkle will travel to Amherst, Massachusetts to play at the University of Massachusetts on June 15-17th. The Northern Jersey Team will compete against teams from Central Baltimore, Connecticut, Western Maryland, Ohio, and Hudson County, New York. Teams will attend the event from as far as Northern California, Colorado and Texas. These National events give chapter representative teams a venue to come together to "Honor the Game" of lacrosse. The format of this event is designed specifically to allow US Lacrosse chapters to send a team of players that will represent them with dignity and class both on and off the field. The ideals of respect, sportsmanship, connection, team spirit, trust, leadership and carrying on the traditions of the game are at the core of the philosophy behind this event. There are no champions crowned or MVP awards given out – this event is about the experience each player gets by participating both on and off the field. For More Information Contact: |
