Q: Are you fielding teams for both boys and girls?
A: Yes, we hope to field a number of teams for each.
Q: For what age group will you accept registrations?
A: Registration is open to any boy residing in Mount Olive, Netcong, Stanhope, Byram, or Hackettstown who is in 2nd-8th grade. Grade and/or skill level will determine the team to which each player is assigned. Second and third grade boys will be grouped into a clinic level beginning in April -- commitment is limited to one meeting per week. Girls in 3rd and 4th will play in a clinic with local teams. Girls program is from 3rd to 8th grade - 3rd/4th grade clinic, 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade league play. Competitive play is with other NJJLL and NJJGLL teams.
Q: What is NJJLL/NJJGLL?
A: The New Jersey Junior Lacrosse League has member clubs spread across the state of New Jersey, including MOJLC. Currently, there are 90+ teams in the league, and it's growing very rapidly! The NJJLL is the largest single-state junior lacrosse league in the nation. NJJGLL is the New Jersey Junior Girls Lacrosse League.
Q: Is MOJLC sanctioned and insured by US Lacrosse?
A: Yes, we are.
Q: Is US Lacrosse membership included in the registration fee?
A: Yes, once registered, each player will become a member of US Lacrosse. The Club includes this cost in your registration fee.
Q: When does the season begin and end?
A: The spring session will begin at the beginning of March, with games starting some time in April and running through the first week in June. After all seasons have ended, there will be a club picnic. Once the season begins, we will have a link to each team's schedule, contact info, and directions to away games on the Team page. Boys' clinic grade 2 & 3 and girls' 3/4 will begin in early April.
Q: I still have questions. Who can I contact?
A: You can contact the Mount Olive Recreation Department via telephone at (973) 691-0900, ext. 7263, or the MOJLC Secretary via email at lacrosse@mojlc.org.
